I love touring, and I'm ready to go on very short notice.
But my life is simpler than my partners' lives.
And he has physical issues when you play like a monster for three hours and the body is not cooperating with him, and it's very hard for him.
And he pays a price.
Like, there are times when you see him backstage in the middle of a tour and he's really suffering.
So he's not sure he's got the fortitude to continue playing like that.

I'm fine with that.
I just wish we'd been able to do another 20 shows or so and it's too bad that we're going to miss the UK particularly.
It just feels a little shy of a true finish, a complete resolution.
But if that's the way it is then we'll adjust to it.
I think we need to have a little space, a little time off to regroup and think about what we want to do in the future.
If and when we want to record another record and if there's a possibility of us doing something in the future, I don't know.

When Lifeson was asked about whether we might expect some future solo work, he says:.
Sure - I write stuff all the time.
I have a whole library of bits and pieces and complete songs that I've written at home and in the studio.
I think if it looks unlikely that we're going to do much in the near future then I will definitely get into something like that next spring.
What sort of project it turns out to be I'm not quite sure, but it will be a musical project.
I can't sit around and I just love doing it so much.

We try to do a combination of emphasizing the new material and then see how many fan favourites from the past we can put in with a straight face, so to speak.

GL: I can certainly see us writing together and putting a musical project together.
I cannot really tell you how that would present itself in a live situation.
If the opportunity to make another album does present itself, at this point would you only carry through with it if you felt like it topped what came before?
We just try to do something as good or different.
And so there has to be something about it that feels fresh in order for us to do another record.
GL: Well, I had a very simple attitude.
Everybody came in with kind of a different agenda.
My attitude was: This is an anniversary tour, so we should really celebrate our most popular songs.
And in order to do that, you have to have the discussion: Well, popular by whose metric?
Laughs By what metric are you measuring it?
If you look at some of the hardcore fans and their requests, they want the more obscure, deeper tracks.
Trying to satisfy everyone is impossible.
You have to consider all the fans.
And you have to consider what you love to play, too.
I think we found a really nice balance on this tour, and we have in fact three different versions of the show that we play on a rotating basis.
So if you want to hear them all, you have to come to more than one.
This being an anniversary show, did you try to spread the song selection out more across all four decades?
Which is kind of the theme of the show, really.
This is kind of a second kick at the can for him, having a family.
And rightfully so, he takes his responsibility as a dad very seriously.
So those are two factors that I would say are the critical factors in whether we are able to continue to tour or not.
So I think that was a reason for him wanting to tour sooner than later.
GL: I think we all sort of started at different times, but I started in February in earnest, and as a band we rehearsed in March and April.
We all have our own way of getting ready.
I usually do two, three weeks on my own, as does Neil.
Laughs We just have to put it together.
GL: It takes a few weeks.
Laughs We start with the hardest ones.
Those are the ones that require more work.
And even though we have no idea what the future holds for us, I remain optimistic.
I think before the tour started, there was a decided mood of the end of our touring life.
I remember last year Alex sounded like he was very interested in the idea of some anniversary dates, and then you tempered the optimism about a tour happening at all.
GL: Oh, yeah, it was very much in doubt until November, I would say.
So the decision kind of came in November that we would go ahead and do it.
Set A includes "Red Barchetta," "Distant Early Warning," "One Little Victory" and "Clockwork Angels.
Set C is nearly the same as A, with the exceptions being "YYZ" replaces "Red Barchetta," and "Natural Science" is added as a bonus track without replacing another song.

Lifeson: I have such mixed feelings about it.
In one way, I feel relief.
I think that 40 years is a long time to be touring the way we tour.
I really like being home with my grandkids.
At 61, I don't feel there's anything we need to prove.
I still love playing.
But in drummer Neil Peart 's case, for example, his job is really tough.
Playing the way he does is very, very difficult on his body.

I was travelling with a friend in the south of France, in the Rhone Valley, actually.
In fact it was at a restaurant near Condriueu in northern Rhone called Le Beau Rivage, I think.
We were going to a friend of ours who is a well-known winemaker in the northern Rhone who makes syrah and we were going there for a big tasting that afternoon but we just stopped for a quick bite beforehand.
On the wine list they were having a sale.
And one of the wines was a 1978 musigny by the Comte du Vogue, a very rare and amazing Burgundy.
This was probably almost 15 to 18 years ago now.
And so my friend, who was a much more experienced taster than I, said, "We have to drink that wine, especially because it's on sale.
Aren't we going to be three sheets to the wind before we get there?
We have to drink this bottle.
From then on, I was completely hooked on Burgundy.
You always remember those great, great bottles.
You can't forget them.
Has your collection outgrown your cellar space or is it still hovering at around 5,000 bottles?
I also spend a lot of time out of the country so I have wine in those places, too.
A:Well, what happened with me was when I was touring in the late '70s, we were starting to get a little successful in America and promoters would always ask our manager, "What can I buy the guys and leave in their dressing room?
He would drink his and I would take all mine home because I wasn't really fanatical About wine yet and I had a little wine fridge and I kept them safe and sound.
At first I acquired a taste for Bordeaux but after many years of trying different wines, I discovered Burgundy and it changed my life, my palate and I completely crossed over to the other side-the pinot side.
What would seem like a dream to most fans can now be a reality.

Hamilton cites the Canadian hard-rock trio Rush as an example of active partners in the process, saying the band members are "very involved" in next year's 40th-anniversary reissue of the group's self-titled debut album.
No other details regarding the re-issue are currently available, but it will likely include a re-master of the album, new and expanded liner notes and hopefully some other goodies.

Anderson announced today that BOOM!
Studios will be releasing a graphic novel version of his please click for source Clockwork Angels: The Novel over six issues next spring.
To be scripted by Anderson, the first issue is tentatively scheduled to be published next April, 2014.
Neil Peart, along with Anderson, have approved an as of yet unnamed artist suggested by BOOM!
Like the original novel, the graphic novel will include various references to Rush lyrics from the back catalog.
The November, 2013 entry is titled Angel's Landing and Neil describes what he's been doing with all his free time since Rush's Clockwork Angels tour ended this past summer, including driving his new Aston Martin Vanquish, going on some hiking trips and revisiting his Ghost Rider book.
Side A features the studio version from the album, while Side B includes a live version of the song with the Clockwork Angels String Ensemble taken from the upcoming live release Clockwork Angels Tour.

There were no sellouts reported yet and ticket sales are down a bit from the 2012 tour according to these numbers.
The band is scheduled to hit the Festival Stage at 9:30PM and play until 11:45PM.
We chatted for, I don't know, 10 or 15 minutes, together there.
I gave him a copy of my solo record, and I'd written something for him in it, because his playing, the influence of his playing, is all over that record.
And then they invited us down to sit at the monitor desk, right at the side of the stage, while they performed.
Throughout the whole show, Jimmy would look over and smile and wink.

When I was a kid, when I first started playing, I started playing guitar when I was about 12.
They were right downtown, and we lived up in the suburbs.

Finally, Ged came up over on the last night that they were there.
He said to his wife, Nancy, "I have to go over and just tell him how much I've admired him, what a great influence he's been.

And he's a terrific guy.
And you know, you do that, but it's seldom that anybody acts upon it.
You know, everybody's got a busy life.
But a few days before they arrived, Ged got a call from him, and he said, "You know, we're in town, come on downto the show.
We've gone through this terrible nightmare with Neil, and everything that he's been through.
I don't know if our hearts are in going out," and all of that.
But you know, he's been through that.
He lost a child, as well.
It was kind of cool because it's a venue that we play all the time when we play in Toronto.
We know lots of people backstage, the crew and stuff like that.
So we went up to the dressing room, we're sitting with Robert and chatting - again, you know, talking about all kinds of things - and then Jimmy came into the room.

How did it come together?
We entered the studio with that song in pretty close to final form.
Or at least it was in pen sketches rather than pencil.
But the truth is, we didn't really have the time available to us to go in the studio and write and record a record like we do now.
A lot of "2112" was written in the back seat of a car and in cold dressing rooms while on tour in northern Ontario.
Then it was just a matter of preparing ourselves and getting all the material ready.
Then we'd go into the studio, spend a week recording and mixing, and that was it.
You get back out on the road.
I think the whole 2112 album took somewhere around a week to do.
So I had those two electrics in the studio with me, and then for the acoustic parts I had a Gibson Hummingbird that I borrowed from that same friend.
For amps, I had a Fender Twin and a Marshall 50-watt and 100-watt.
I'm sure I had a couple Marshall cabinets as well.
My pedals were a Maestro Phase Shifter and Echoplex, and a Cry Baby wah.
He had his 1812 Overture and we had our 2112 "Overture.
We have assumed control.
The second is made up of four.
Each is uttered three times.
Mathematically, that comes to 21 words for the first sentence, and 12 for the second.
Oh, I didn't know about that!

Today we have announced details for the spring leg of the tour which include: April 23 Austin, TX Frank Erwin Center April 26 Ft.
The cities on the Summer leg will include but not be limited to Hershey, Wantagh, Saratoga, Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Boston, Calgary, Vancouver, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas See more, Halifax and Grand Rapids.
My guess is that they'll add a few more cities to this list and split up the Summer leg into a couple of 10-date stretches.
The rumors I'd heard regarding the Ft.
Lauderdale and Atlantic City dates turned out to be true, so I'm assuming that my information regarding Chicago, Cincinnati and Milwaukee is also correct - that Rush will play on June 28th at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL; on July 2nd at the Riverbend Amphitheater in Cincinnati; and the Milwaukee Summerfest for a show around the 4th of July.
I'm expecting that the Summer dates will be announced within the next few weeks.
It would appear that the DVD untitled as of this pointis NOT scheduled for May 21.
One of the dangers in running a site like this is a bad date feed.
Release dates may find their way into your mailbox, often by trusted resources.
Usually you can run with them.
For example, the 2112 Deluxe reissue announcement, which proved to be true.
I received the info about the DVD from the same source, however, today, from a more trusted source, I was told that the DVD does not have a release date in place.
I was told that it would be made available, likely in the Fall of this year, corresponding to a train of logical thought that played out in many Rush forums, rightly so as it turns out.
So, once again, apologies to Rush fans all over who marked their calendars in anticipation of a new concert DVD.
I promise to deliver the correct date as SOON as it is made available to me.
It's somewhat interesting that the band would decide to release the Live DVD presumably in the middle of their North American tour later this year though they have yet to announce the tour dates.

The fact that Rush plan on filming two consecutive nights suggests that they'll include all the songs from their rotating set list from this tour.
Also, while the official announcement only refers to a DVD, it's more than likely that an accompanying live CD will also be released, as has been the case with every tour DVD the band has released over the past decade.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.
Rush has been eligible for induction since 1999, 25 years after the release of their first record in the US, but this is their first nomination.
Rush, Deep Purple, Heart, Procol Harum, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Randy Newman are among the names being submitted to voters for next year's induction honors.
Also on the list are Donna Summer, Chic, Joan Jett, Albert King, Kraftwerk, The Meters, N.
Other than Heart, Joan Jett and Chic, this is the first time any of the other artists has been nominated.

Happy Birthday, Geddy -- and many happy returns!
As many fans know, his given first name "Gary" transformed into "Geddy" during his high school days thanks to his mother's heavily-accented pronunciation of his name.
July 29th is also an important date in Rush history as it marks the date, back in 1974, when Neil Peart joined the group.
Maybe there isn't one.
But I don't think she gets the credit that she deserves.
Journalists tend to focus on the things she says and does and, of course, what she is wearing.
She is a very visual artist so perhaps that is understandable.
But people tend to forget just what a fantastic and truly original artist she really is.
She is not afraid to try new things, either.
In fact she thrives on it.
It would have been very easy for her to have gone the pop route and built on her hit singles.
There must have been pressure for her to do that but it is not what she is about.
Just great music powered by an immense imagination.
They seem to have no desire whatsoever to appear trendy.
I know they are genuine in that although, obviously, that soon becomes a trendy stance in itself.
I can see a bit of Rush in that dilemma.
But they are simply natural, organic and are so well rooted in folk and rock that they can take both these extremes anywhere they want.
This happens a lot on this incredible album which certainly shouldn't be lumped in an Americana basket.
There is so much going on.
They way they play and beautiful use of harmonies.
I couldn't believe it when I first heard it but it gave me hope that there will always be something new happening in music, no matter what they say.
Everything on this album is old but, when pieced together like this, it is truly groundbreaking.
It's new staging, new lighting, everything is new and fresh about it.
I would say that it's an evolutionary extension of what the Time Machine tour was, but we are definitely freshening it up and there'll be a lot of new video stuff going on.
A:"We did them lots of ways.
Some of it was them playing together, some of it was them playing individually, some of it was piece by piece.
But all three of them were together throughout the entire process.
Different things were happening all the time.
We used Neil's DW touring kit, the one he played on the Time Machine tour.
That thing sounds amazing!
Guitar-wise, we raided Alex's collection, all of his old guitars and a few of his new Gibson signature models.
Those things sound great.
Alex played them for a few of his solos.
For amps, I remember we used an old Even ゴールドラウンジのカジノ reply Plexi - there were a few Marshalls, really.
You know what we did use on this album that was different from the last one?
The Moog Taurus 3 pedals.
On the last record, we used the original T-1s that they had in the '70s.
Let me tell you, the new version kicks ass!
A:"I'd say all of them.
I was still producing when we were mixing.
While we were recording, there were definitely things I wanted to do in the mix - different effects, vocal sounds… The whole middle section to Clockwork Angels, that bluesy bar band section, that definitely happened in the mix.
The ending part of Seven Cities Of Gold, where the drums and the rhythm section fade out and you're left with those big, beautiful guitar chords, that was in the mix.
They've been rocking and getting pummeled on stage for years, but I'll tell you, Geddy Lee can hear a mouse fart on the other side of the room!
A:"That's a hard one.
I don't know… I think they just wanted to make a great album.
They just want to be happy and make music.
I think we did that, and I hope all the true Rush fans out there love it, too, without picking apart how loud the mastering is or analyzing the waveform.
This record reminds me of All The World's A Stage, in some ways.
It's got that rawness and energy, and that level of playing… "See, that's the fan in me talking.
When I switch back to producer guy, I want to make sure that's what they're doing - playing with the rawness, attacking their instruments.
I think we got there.
They had most of the album written already.
A few songs were works in progress, but pretty much everything was there.
So the lesson plan was in motion, and I helped facilitate what they were freeslots4u />They didn't talk about doing a concept album - that came later.
But when I sat down with them three years ago, I said, 'I want to hear unbridled Rush.
I don't want to focus on three-and-a-half minute songs; I don't want verse, chorus, verse, chorus - none of that.
I want you guys to play, no holds barred.
Let's just make music.
Did they jam on them and discover new things?
A:"Well, I should mention that every song was born out of a jam.
Geddy and Alex would sit in a room and jam with a click track or a simple drum beat.
The songs were very different without Neil.
So that was the first stage of the demos; the next demo stage was to get Neil on the songs.
Half of the album was written between 2008 and 2010.
The second half was written in two weeks in the studio.
While Neil and I were tracking drums on some of the finished songs, Geddy and Alex were down the hall working on the other ones.
A:"That really started to come to light in Toronto.
are オンラインキングゲーム absolutely weeks or so into it, as Geddy and Alex were writing more music, we all kind of looked at one another and said, 'Hey, this is really turning into something.
Listening to him, watching him speak - it was amazing!
I wish we were filming him so we could put it on YouTube.

Once Geddy and Al heard where Neil was going, they churned out some amazing music.
I think Headlong Flight came the next day.
Sales of the album have been very strong, propelling it to 3 on the iTunes album chart and 1 on the Amazon Best Seller list for Music.

It's also doing great in Canada and other parts of the world.
I did pull out my PRS 12-string for a couple of things but generally I stuck with those.
They also feature on your new album in a slightly different form.
Have you re-recorded these from scratch or just added a few overdubs to the originals?
We just re-mixed them.
We wanted them to have the same character mix wise as the rest of the record.
Now they are much more attached to the whole album rather than being standalone tracks.
Why the change and why Roadrunner?
The industry is changing so much and I think Atlantic Records has perhaps changed a lot too.
Roadrunner has become that label.
I think the feeling was, and it was a mutual feeling, that we would get better attention in a very difficult industry at Roadrunner.
I have to say that it was the right decision.
Being on Roadrunner is very different to being on Atlantic.
We had lots of friends on Atlantic and friends that we dearly loved but a lot of the people that we got to know over the years are long gone now.
Roadrunner were straight out of the gate working very, very hard particularly in the UK.
We are very happy to work with them.

The Headlong Flight single will begin getting released to radio on Thursday, April 19th with an apparent very limited preview release of some kind next Wednesday, April 11th.
I'm still trying to get more details on what the preview is all about, but it sounds like it might be a one-off spin of sorts - perhaps exclusive to just a couple of stations - or possibly the release of a sample clip online.
The radio-edit single itself has been paired down to 4:50 in length the original radio cut was 5:20where the album version clocks in at 7:20.
It sounds like only the radio-edit will be available for digital purchase until the album itself is released.
Roadrunner began shopping the single out to various folks in the radio industry last Wednesday, setting the Twittersphere abuzz with reactions - all very positive.
The track has been described as epic by those who have heard it along with some comparisons to By-tor and the Snow Dog and mid-70s Rush.
The songs are like a winding journey and definitely has a more modern day concept feel to them.
Keyboards are present on the record so if you loathe them, sorry!

As it stands right now, the band is still in the process of routing the tour but dates are beginning to firm up.
Generally speaking, it looks like Rush will be hitting dates in the Midwest and Eastern Canada in September-October, and the Southeastern US in October-November.
Since last week I've also heard that there will be dates in Tampa and Atlanta in November with a Ft.
Lauderdale date also rumored along with a Cincinnati Riverbend date in September.
Remember that nothing is official until it's announced by Rush.

A fact about which I remain ambivalent, because until real-time holograms are possible, and accepted by audiences, it demands such long periods away from home.
I played through each song just a few times on my own, checking out patterns and fills that might work, then called in Booujzhe.

We played for three hours -- you can tuck a 45-minute album in there and still play lots of new things and lots of other things.

We'd like to simplify that, just in terms of making sure the guitar, bass and drum sounds are big and loud and clear, and any time we are going to add an overdub, to make sure that it definitely is adding and not subtracting.

We wound the machine back up about three weeks ago.
After a sluggish start, we've had a very fruitful couple of weeks in terms of writing.
I'm very pleased with the direction that the material has taken.
And I think we have one or two more songs that we'd like to write, and then we'll start recording in earnest.
Hopefully we'll have all of the recording done before Christmas.
Then we'll mix it some time in the next year, and then get it out.
I hope it'll be out by the spring anyway.
It's not finished so it's hard to say exactly what it will sound like in totality, but I think that the direction of "Caravan" and "BU2B" sort of points in the direction that we're going.
I can't tell you exactly when.
Maybe the summer or maybe the fall.
We need some time to organize all that, but we have started to do that at the same time.
But yes, there will be a follow-up tour to support the record.

Each album is packaged in a replica vinyl mini-jacket of the original album release with all three box sets forming a Rush CD road case.
The complete 2-CD companion to the Time Machine DVD will have the same title as the DVD and include the entire concert, and still looks to be a separate release not included with the DVD.

After years of Roadrunner pursuing the band, Tom Lipsky presented a deal that worked and the timing was right.

Rush's first concert video filmed in the United States, the video will be released on both DVD and Blu-Ray.
Capturing Rush's performance in Cleveland this past April 15th, the show was filmed by Banger Films, the team behind Beyond The Lighted Stage.
Catharines, ON in 1974 with original drummer John Rutsey on drums, portions of which were included in the Rush documentary Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage.
It's not clear whether this would just be the same 2 clips of Working Man and Best I Can that were also included as extras in the documentary, or if it will include the entire show or more unreleased footage at least.
The bonus features will also include some of of their performance in Passaic, NJ.
Again, it's not clear what full clip means in this context.

Lifeson: Well, we're not really in the middle.
We wrote six songs and recorded two of them, both of which we're playing live.

Our decision to go on tour during an album project.
I don't know, we just thought it'd be kind of cool.
Plus, there's nothing that gets your playing chops together like being on tour.

So we kind of said, "Let's record these two new songs, put them out there and hit the road.
What are your goals on "Clockwork Angels" - personally, as a guitarist, and collectively, as a band?
I don't really think in those terms.
We don't feel as though we have to prove anything.
We just want to write great songs.
As you know, the album format seems to be dying in some ways.
RUSH are traditionalists, so I don't think it'll die for us.
This is the first time that we released any new material independent of an album, which was a good thing for us.
We wanted to do something different and step out of the box a little bit.
It's something we might do again: spend a month or so writing, record two or three songs and release them.
THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES - they were always putting out singles that weren't on their albums.
Lifeson: Yep, I remember that.
I think it's good for us to do stuff like that.
But going back to the original question, we're not out to prove anything on this record.
We're quite happy with the material we have; we'll get in and finish the record; and once we put it out, probably sometime next year, we'll hit the road with a tour that highlights the album.
Are you going to go back there to finish the album?
Lifeson: I don't know.
For those two songs, we did work in Nashville, but we haven't made any decisions as to where we'll record when we pick things up again.

The thing about Nashville is, that's where Nick lives.
He'd been away from home a lot, and I think he was really hoping that we'd agree to workthere.
We didn't have a problem with that.

So going to Nashville and working for a week was no big deal.
Blackbird is a terrific studio.
Great gear, great rooms, a wonderful staff - it was a no-brainer to be there.
Moving forward, however, we'll see.

We were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring.
Everything is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day.
We've got these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something - and I say perhaps - and then we plan on being on the road in the middle of June.
Ideally, we'd like to showcase a couple of these songs on the tour, come off tour in mid-October, go back in the studio and continue writing, then record through late this year and early next year, and then release the album in the spring of 2011 on a slightly more substantial tour.
Most likely summer, 2011, would be more like 70.
You counted on record sales and songwriting to make your living.
And touring was a way to publicize that.
Suddenly, in the last 10, 15 years all that turned around and our income is entirely from touring, and recording is an indulgence.
In a band like Rush, no one's going to pay us to make a record.
It's going to be an indulgence.
Even Snakes and Arrows basically paid for itself and that's it, and if we want to make a living beyond that we have to go on the road and tour.
So we're sort of playing it open right now.
I would guess that sometime in the early fall we would get back together and start writing again, and then hopefully by next summer, we'd be ready to tour.
According to reports fans in attendance, Geddy shared with them news that Rush plans on entering the studio "very, very soon" and are "hoping to then tour this summer".

The importance of 'the album' is not what it was, and there is currently a reversion to a musical climate rather like the 1950s, when only 'the song' matters.
Radio, downloads, and 'shuffle' settings are inimical to collected works.
However, those rhythmic concepts would also be inspiring for a new drum solo, if we decided to do a tour of some kind, maybe with an orchestra.
We could write and record just a few songs, and release them some way.

I think he thinks source have to make our grand statement - like it's now or never.
After the summer I think we'll be ready to work again.
What I like about the solo is, it's the opposite of Limelight: it's got a hip, kind of slinky attitude, a little goofy humor.
When I play it, I feel a certain confidence, almost like a prankster, which is not the way I am in real life at all.
What's funny about it, too, is that it has a plot to it, and I only realized that after I recorded it for the first time - I never have a plot in mind when I'm recording solos; I always just kind of wing them.
The Kid Gloves solo guided me; it's like it knew what it wanted to be and I just had to allow myself to follow.
I think I feel a certain amount of pride in that fact alone.
Every time I play it, I'm amazed I got through it.
It's so frenetic and exciting.
The rhythm section too - Geddy and Neil are all over the place.
It's probably one of the most ambitious pieces of music Rush has ever done.
In a sense, everybody's soloing at the same time.
Recording it, I didn't have anything planned; I was just responding to what the other guys did.
Basically, I was just trying to keep up!
But I think it worked out pretty well.
I'm rather happy with it, and I can usually find fault with everything I do.

We generally prefer to just start on that first day and sit down and start jamming; it's such an exciting moment, and it becomes it's own living thing.
We seem to be much more balanced and a lot happier working that way.
The tour will kick off go here their first ever appearance in San Juan, Puerto Rico April 11 and hit over 45 cities throughout the United States and Canada.
For Rush fans this will be the first time in over a decade the band will make stops in Orlando, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Reno, Moline, Boise, Austin, Jacksonville and Winnipeg to name a few.
Also for the first time in years the band will play Albuquerque, Edmonton, Vancouver, Hershey and Manchester.

JordanRud over at Counterparts called Anthem.
They said it was totally bogus - it was just a rumor after all.
I for one am very glad we can put this to rest.
But let's not forget the other part of that rumor - tickets on sale March 24th!
That part of it is much easier to swallow I'd say.
The bad news is that the Ticketmaster rep told him that it is in fact being billed as the farewell tour.
Nothing official has been said yet of course.
They're of the friend-of-a-friend variety so I had some doubts about posting them.

It actually all sounds fairly believable.
It comes from someone on a Kings X great band by the way board who is friends with producer Nick Raskulinecz's assistant.
He is a HUGE Rush fan and he said that last night he got to go to the studio to hear the final mix of the new Rush album.
It was only him, Nick, the band and about 10 of the band's friends.
He's now gotten to hang with them a few times and said he has to keep his cool and not geek out.
He said Geddy pulled him aside and said "Your boy Nick is the best young producer we've seen.
The sky is the limit for him".
He said the jam all over it, a couple of instrumentals that will blow your mind and the pace of the songs is more exciting than they have done in a long, long time.
Plus, Nick got them to break out some of the old gear and it made a difference.
All in all, he said he wouldn't say it sounded like old Rush.
But he said fans of old Rush will like it alot.
I've never heard him so fired up about a record he's done.
He said he is normally so burned out on material by the time the album is done, but not this time.
He also said they plan on putting it out on vinyl as well, a double album.
The album is 60 minutes long.
To quote him: "The instrumentals are sick".
In summary, there are 2 "sick" instrumentals; the album is 60 minutes long; old gear was used which jibes with an earlier rumor about a mellotron being utilized ; Alex used the same amp he used when recording Hemispheres on Far Cry; and the album will be available on vinyl.
Rumor or not - this is all great news.
The album took only 30 days to record, the shortest time they have taken to record an album since A Farewell To Kings.
Andrew MacNaughtan has been video taping the entire project, with the possibility of including a making of dvd.
The band plans on launching a North American tour on June 12th or 13th, running through the end of the year, to be followed by dates in Europe and South America.
When asked about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lerxst states "I couldn't care less, look who's up for induction, its a joke".
